Gaja is one of the most prestigious Italian wineries. It was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja, but became the star of contemporary winemaking with Angelo Gaja – Giovanni’s great-grandson, who first introduced innovative technological concepts and practices to the Langa. Today Angelo Gaja is still the owner of the cellar, even if most of the management work is entrusted to his two daughters. In addition to the Piedmontese companies, Gaja has also expanded into Tuscany in recent years, where it now owns several vineyards in the most suitable areas of Bolgheri and Montalcino
