Description
The Castell’in Villa Chianti Classico 2021 is a mature wine of great elegance. Its well-developed tannic structure supports the succulent fruit. Its intensity, richness, and complexity translate into savory, earthy, truffle-like notes of dark fruit. The finish is long and satisfying
Castell’in Villa Chianti Classico originates from vineyards planted on alluvial soil containing pebbles and sand.
The must ferments in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts and is kept in contact with the skins for just under two weeks.
The wine is aged in large oval barrels for two years before bottling.
Castell’in Villa is a small estate in Castelnuovo Berardenga, at the southern edge of the Chianti Classico region. Both the Chianti Classico and the Riserva are made from 100% Sangiovese, vinified through spontaneous fermentation and aged in traditional large barrels.
The estate’s owner, Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa, has never had any doubts about the path to follow to achieve the quality she strives for: tradition, tradition, tradition.
The resulting wines are aromatic, distinctive, long-lived, and delicious—proof that the Sangiovese grape can reach peaks of excellence when grown in the right place.
