The Guercio of the Carleone di Castiglioni estate is one of the most shining examples of Sangiovese in Radda in Chianti.
A wine that bears the signature of its creator – Sean O’Callaghan – and who therefore adopted his nickname: Il Guercio.
In the words of Antonio Galloni: Il Guercio combines the elegant aromas of a Pinot Noir with the class of Sangiovese and the structure of a traditionally produced Barolo.
A wine that comes from grapes pressed gently with the feet and that after a very long maceration matures for about 18 months in steel and cement.
We love how Sean O’Callaghan has brought to life one of the purest and most territorial interpretations of the grape that we all love. A must for anyone who admires Sangiovese.
