Description
Pruneto’s Chianti Classico is a fresh, approachable red wine with good fruit character. The Sangiovese from this vintage offers fullness and ripeness. On the palate, the wine offers notes of sweet wild berries and a hint of wild spices.
Pruneto è un’azienda agricola di Radda in Chianti che si è sempre tenuta ben lontana dalle mode a dalle facili scorciatoie che nel mondo del vino si possono prendere.
The heart and soul of Pruneto is Riccardo Lanza, who has drawn inspiration from this small corner of Chianti for years, creating wines with a unique character that faithfully reflect both the land and the man himself.
The Pruneto vineyards cover just over three hectares, stretching along the southern slope of the hill on which the estate is situated. The vines are divided between two separate vineyards: the first faces south, and the second faces southwest.
The predominant grape variety is, of course, Sangiovese, complemented by a few rows of Merlot and Canaiolo. The oldest of our vineyards dates back to 1972, while the youngest was planted in 2017. The soils consist mainly of galestro and have a good stony structure at a moderate depth. The vineyards are located at an altitude of approximately 550 meters above sea level.
