Description
Aurora is the Carricante from Mount Etna that I selected because it represents, in a clear and authentic way, the work of Salvo Foti and I Vigneri, one of the most respected and terroir-driven projects on Etna.
The grapes come from historic vineyards on Mount Etna, located between 850 and 1,000 meters above sea level, trained in the traditional Etna bush-vine system (alberello etneo), on volcanic soils rich in sand and minerals. The strong day–night temperature shifts and the manual vineyard work give the wine great tension and precision.
In the glass, the wine is bright, with aromas of white flowers, citrus, cedar, Mediterranean herbs and flinty mineral notes. On the palate it is fresh, saline and mineral, with a long, clean finish — a true expression of great Etna white wines.
This is not an easy or obvious wine: it grows in the glass and tells the story of the volcano with honesty and clarity.
