Volpaia is a small medieval village situated on a hill just north of Radda in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. Volpaia was built in the 11th century as a fortified village on the border between Florence and Siena and remains today a gem of peace and beauty that enriches the Radda in Chianti area.

He is in charge of running the company the Stianti-Mascheroni family, assisted by Lorenzo Regoli and by consultant Riccardo Cotarella. Castello di Volpaia is one of the leaders of the Tuscan wine renaissance, thanks in part to the distinctive style of its wines, which owe much to the terroir from which they benefit.

The vineyards enjoy excellent exposure ranging from southeast to southwest and, in these years of climate change, benefit from their high elevation: the 46-hectare vineyard is situated between 450 and 600 meters on the southern hills leading to the village. The soils are also stony—known as “Macigno del Chianti”—and provide excellent drainage.

The wines are consistent with this scenario: ethereal, with well-defined floral and fruity notes and a mineral vein to refresh the sip.

Castello di Volpaia has been working organically for years to respect as much as possible the terroir from which its wines are born
