Description
Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico is an expression of the southernmost area of the denomination. Full and full of character, this Chianti Classico offers hints of cherry and raspberry, surrounded by Tuscan herbs, tobacco and earth. Definitely structured, it remains fresh and long in the finish.
Castello di Bossi rises in the center of the company, located in the southern part of the Chianti Classico, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. The first tower was built around 1099, later in 1450 it became a defensive quadrilateral. Property of the Bacci family, Castello di Bossi extends over 500 hectares of land, 120 of which are planted with vineyards.
The average altitude of the vineyards is about 350 m above sea level and their exposure rotates from south-east to west. The three main grapes are Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
The Sangiovese of Castelnuovo Berardenga, unlike the other areas of the Chianti Classico, has a greater phenolic and tannic maturation thanks to the mild climate.
