Description
Castell’in Villa Chianti Classico 2020 is a mature wine of great elegance. Well developed tannic texture to support the succulence of the fruit. Intensity, richness and complexity translate into savory, earthy, truffled, dark fruit notes. Long and satisfying finish
The Chianti Classico Castell’in Villa comes from vines planted on alluvial soil with pebbles and sand.
The must ferments in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts and is kept in contact with the skins for just under two weeks.
The wine is aged in large oval barrels for two years before bottling.
Castell’in Villa is a small property in Castelnuovo Berardenga, at the southern end of the Chianti Classico region. Both the Chianti Classico and the Riserva are pure Sangiovese, vinified with spontaneous fermentation and aged in traditional large barrels.
The owner of the estate, Coralia Pignatelli della Leonessa, has never had any doubts about the path to follow in order to achieve the quality she aims for: tradition, tradition, tradition.
The resulting wines are fragrant, distinctive, long-lived and delicious, proof that Sangiovese grapes can reach peaks of excellence when grown in the right place.
