Description
The Chianti Classico 2022 from Borgo Salcetino is a Tuscan red wine crafted in the heart of Chianti, in Lucarelli, a hamlet of Radda in Chianti. The estate is part of the Livon Group, a historic Friulian producer that has successfully brought its expertise to Tuscany while honoring the region’s character.
This Chianti Classico is made from 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo, vinified separately to enhance the varietal expression. The vines are trained using the spurred cordon method and grow on limestone-clay soils with sandy components, at an altitude of around 400 meters.
Harvesting is done manually, with careful bunch selection. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures for about 15–20 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in large 50-hl oak barrels. The wine is then aged for 18–20 months in large oak casks and refined in bottle for at least 3 months before release.
Bright ruby red in color, it stands out for its finesse and for the typical elegance of Radda wines — marked by freshness, velvety tannins, and a well-balanced structure. This is a wine rooted in tradition yet crafted with a modern approach, ideal for those who value authenticity and drinkability.
