Description
The Chianti Classico Riserva Brolio 2018 Magnum by Barone Ricasoli is one of the reference labels of the Chianti area.
At the heart of the history and economy of the Chianti region since 1141, Barone Ricasoli, based in the magnificent Castello di Brolio in Gaiole in Chianti, is one of the four oldest wine estates in the world.
One of the ancestors of the current property, Bettino Ricasoli, also known as the Iron Baron, was the inventor of the modern Chianti Classico wine recipe in the mid-19th century. Today the company is chaired by Francesco Ricasoli, Bettino’s great-grandson.
The estate, including the Castle, extends for 1200 hectares of which 230 are vineyards. With these numbers, the company from Gaiole in Chianti is the largest in the area.
The wine is the result of a skilful blend: 80% Sangiovese, about 15% Merlot and about 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The fermentation takes place in steel vats, while the maturation takes place in barriques and tonneaux for 16 months. Refinement in the bottle for at least 3/6 months before being put on the market.
A historic label, with few competitors for price and quality.
