Description
Solaia 2020 is produced by the Antinori family at Tenuta Tignanello in Tuscany. The first vintage of Solaia was 1978 from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%). Already in 1979, however, the percentages changed. Sangiovese becomes part of the blend with 20% and since then nothing has changed, except in the difficult 2002 where pure Cabernet returns. The name Solaia derives from the name of the vineyard of the same name of approximately 20 hectares facing south-west between 350 and 400 meters above sea level. on a rocky limestone soil with alberese rock and galestro, in the Chianti countryside not far from Florence. For many years this bottle has been considered a “must have” among collectors and lovers of good wine. Inevitable, safe in the best cellars in the world and on the most important tables.
