Description
Pruneto Chianti Classico Riserva is a wine that transcends modern conventions and is free from unnecessary frills. On the nose, it offers notes of wilted flowers, ripe fruit, and undergrowth. On the palate, it is fresh and full-bodied, with a lovely tannic texture that’s already developed and ready to be enjoyed. To drink
Pruneto is a winery in Radda in Chianti that has always steered clear of the trends and easy shortcuts that can be taken in the world of wine.
The heart and soul of Pruneto is Riccardo Lanza, who for years has drawn inspiration from this small part of Chianti, creating wines with an original character that faithfully reflect the land and its people.
The Pruneto vineyards extend over just over three hectares, arranged along the southern slope of the hill on which the winery sits. The vines are distributed across two separate vineyards, one facing south and the other southwest.
The main grape is obviously Sangiovese, flanked by some rows of Merlot and Canaiolo. The oldest of our vineyards dates back to 1972, while the youngest was planted in 2017. The soils are mainly made up of marl, they have a good stony skeleton at a reasonable depth. The altitude of the vineyards is approximately 550 m above sea level.
