Description

Some wineries are built upon generations of family tradition, while others represent a fresh vision for Chianti Classico. Belvedere1 belongs to the latter. Located in the hills of Castellina in Chianti, within the One Belvedere Tuscany estate, the winery embraces regenerative agriculture and environmentally conscious viticulture, with the goal of producing wines that are both authentic and deeply connected to their territory. The vineyards are farmed without herbicides or pesticides, encouraging biodiversity and healthy soils, while the cellar follows a minimal-intervention philosophy that allows the vineyard to tell its own story.

The Belvedere1 Chianti Classico is produced from 100% Sangiovese grown in estate vineyards situated between 250 and 300 meters above sea level, on soils composed of Pliocene clay and sedimentary stone. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in open concrete tanks, followed by a long maceration and twelve months of ageing between concrete vessels and large oak casks. The result is a wine that prioritizes balance, precision, and a true expression of place rather than concentration or power.

In the glass, it displays a bright ruby-red color and opens with pure aromas of cherry, red currant, and plum, accompanied by subtle earthy and spicy nuances that reflect the soils of Castellina. On the palate, it is fresh, vibrant, and remarkably drinkable, supported by well-integrated tannins and a lively savory character that encourages another sip. The structure remains elegant and restrained, faithful to the most traditional expression of Sangiovese from the Chianti region.

This is a Chianti Classico that focuses on drinkability and purity rather than intensity. It is an exceptionally versatile food wine, pairing beautifully with Tuscan cured meats, pasta with meat sauces, roasted meats, and medium-aged cheeses. While immediately enjoyable, its balance and strong territorial identity also provide the foundation for graceful ageing over the coming years.
