The CA’ DEI ZAGO Prosecco Valdobbiadene Colfondo Vigneto Mariarosa 2022 represents a selection of exceptional quality coming from old vines of the prestigious Mariarosa vineyard in Valdobbiadene. This sparkling wine, the result of the winemaking expertise of the small Venetian winery Ca’ dei Zago, is elaborated through a meticulous process of refermentation in the bottle, following the classic Colfondo method. This ancestral technique gives Vigneto Mariarosa greater depth and complexity, reflecting the artisanal production approach of the winery.

The heart of this Prosecco is found in the assembly of native vines such as Glera, Bianchetta Trevigiana, Verdiso and Perera, grown in full harmony with the environment on calcareous-clayey soils at approximately 250 meters above sea level, without the use of herbicides, pesticides or other synthetic chemicals. The authenticity and integrity of the wine are further guaranteed by the natural alcoholic fermentation, carried out exclusively with indigenous yeasts.

Visually, the CA’ DEI ZAGO Prosecco Valdobbiadene Colfondo Vigneto Mariarosa 2022 presents itself with a delicate straw yellow hue. On the nose, the fresh aromas of lemon peel, flowers and white pulp fruit are immediately distinguishable, with a light note of almond which adds a further layer of complexity. In the mouth, the wine reveals a light and sweet taste, characterized by a lively freshness and a pleasantly citrus finish.

Since 1924 Ca’ dei Zago has cultivated 15 hectares of vineyards in Valdobbiadene, the heart of the production of Prosecco DOCG. The owners Christian and Marika adopt traditional production methods on hills located at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level. Their soil is rich in clay and limestone, while the climate is moderately warm, influenced by the proximity of both the Alpine Dolomites and the Adriatic Sea. Small biodynamic production of high quality, handcrafted from harvest to bottling. The new wines are therefore the expression of research conducted with the same scientific rigor as its illustrious ancestor but with a contemporary spirit, like a runner who receives the baton and carries it forward with renewed energy.
