Description
Verbena Brunello di Montalcino 2019 is one of those reds that suggests why this slice of Tuscany is enjoying so much success. Pure Sangiovese which presents itself in the glass with a deep ruby red that turns towards garnet. On the nose it is a succession of aromas ranging from ripe fruit, to leather, to spices. In the mouth it is soft and balanced with a beautiful freshness that keeps the sip tense.
The vineyards available to the Nannetti family, owners of the Verbena agricultural company, are divided into two distant bodies. Those in the northern part of the Montalcino quadrant with north-east exposure are characterized by a cooler microclimate and those in the south, in the Castelnuovo dell’Abate area, with south-east exposure and enjoy a decidedly warmer climate.
Verbena wines are born from the skilful blending of the grapes from these two sub-areas of Montalcino.
