Description

Val delle Corti Chianti Classico Riserva 2021 is a 100% Sangiovese coming from 40-year-old vineyards located at 450 m above sea level on marly-limestone soils with a strong skeleton. The vinification is classic: 2 weeks in open tonneaux only with natural yeasts. The 24-month refinement is carried out partly in barriques and partly in used tonneaux. This is followed by a further period of rest in the bottle of at least 6 months before being put on the market.

In 1974 Giorgio Bianchi and his wife decided to escape the frenetic pace of Milan and moved to the small village of Radda in Chianti to realize their dream of producing wine. It was Manetti of the famous Montevertine estate who recommended Val delle Corti to Giorgio Bianchi and invited him to become his neighbour. The estate had been abandoned for some years and required a lot of work: the buildings have been restored and the vineyards have been completely renovated. Today their son Roberto manages the small company of seven hectares (four owned and three rented).

The vineyards are conducted organically and Val delle Corti has become a point of reference for the authentic Chianti Classico without heaviness and artifice. The Radda terroir, with its stony and compact soil, mainly made up of schist and limestone, is one of the most famous in the entire Chianti appellation. In Roberto Bianchi‘s wines we find Radda in every single sip, her wines are delicate, floral with a nice fresh vein that invites you to renew the drink. Chianti Classico Riserva is one of those Raddesi wines that is worth keeping jealously in the cellar for special occasions.
