Description

The Chianti Classico Riserva from Val delle Corti is a 100% Sangiovese from 40-year-old vineyards located at 450 m asl on marly-calcareous soils with a strong skeleton. The vinification is classic: 2 weeks in open tonneaux only with natural yeasts. The aging of 24 months is carried out partly in barriques and partly in used tonneaux. This is followed by a further period of rest in the bottle of at least 6 months before being put on the market.

In 1974 Giorgio Bianchi and his wife decided to escape the frenetic pace of Milan and moved to the small village of Radda in Chianti to fulfill their dream of producing wine. It was Manetti of the famous Montevertine estate who recommended Val delle Corti to Giorgio Bianchi and invited him to become his neighbor. The estate had been abandoned for a few years and required a lot of work: the buildings were restored and the vineyards were completely renovated. Today their son Roberto runs the small seven-hectare farm (four owned and three rented).

The vineyards are managed organically and Val delle Corti has become a reference point for the authentic Chianti Classico without heaviness and artifice. The Radda terroir, with its stony and compact soil, consisting mainly of shale and limestone, is one of the most famous of the entire Chianti appellation. In Roberto Bianchi’s wines we find Radda in every single sip, his wines are delicate, floral with a nice fresh vein that invites you to renew your drink. Chianti Classico Riserva is one of those Raddesi wines that are worth keeping in the cellar for special occasions
