Description
The Terreno Tre Vigne Chianti Classico 2021 is made exclusively with Sangiovese grapes from the UGA of Greve. The grapes are grown on the vineyards called Terreno, Le Bonille and Sillano, located at an altitude between 320 and 500 meters above sea level. The soils on which the vines grow include a blend of Macigno del Chianti, Alberese, Pietraforte and Formazione di Sillano, which contribute to the complexity of the wine.
The grapes are harvested by hand in small boxes, and the vinification takes place with natural yeasts in steel tanks and open 1000-litre tubs. The wine ages for 14 months in large oak barrels (12 hl, 24 hl and 30 hl) and subsequently for at least a year in the bottle in the Terreno cellar. The residual sugar content is 0.5 g/l.
The 2020 vintage benefited from a cold spring with some frosts and a hot, dry summer, with a good temperature range between day and night, creating elegant and accessible wines.
The Chianti Classico Tre Vigne di Terreno represents the flagship wine of the winery, with a floral delicacy, excellent drinkability and a savory energy that defines its character.
This wine pairs perfectly with robust and tasty dishes, such as tagliatelle with wild boar ragù, Florentine steak, and also with more particular dishes such as a potato pancake served with cranberries and crispy bacon.
The Terreno winery is located in the heart of Chianti Classico, near the town of Greve in Chianti, where viticulture is a tradition that dates back to Roman times. The Ruhne family began producing wine in 1988 and today the winery is completely self-sufficient from an energy point of view, with the aim of passing the land on to future generations in better conditions than when it was acquired.
