Description
Stefano Amerighi, the young and dynamic owner of this homonymous estate, has a beautiful Cru called Poggiobello di Farneta not far from Cortona. The vineyard was planted with the Syrah variety in 2002 after a thorough geological investigation.
Ideal exposure: southeast, and the ideal soil: a mix of clay, silt and chalk.
Stefano planted the high density vines, 7000 plants per hectare and immediately adhered to the principles of biodynamics for the management of the vineyard.
In the cellar, fermentation takes place spontaneously in small concrete tanks and without the use of pumps, sulfur or temperature control. The wine is then left to decant naturally in a combination of wood and concrete tanks, where it is held for 14 months before bottling.
The resulting wine is of the highest level, with notes of black olive, cassis and minerals. A point of reference for the Cortona DOC denomination
Stefano Amerighi is Demeter certified.
