Description
Setriolo Chianti Classico Riserva 2018 is made from a blend of 92% Sangiovese and 8% Merlot. Few bottles, just 2000, which are sold after 54 months of aging in tonneaux. The nose reveals an important complexity with fruity, spicy and balsamic notes. In the mouth it is elegant with sweet and seductive tannins
Setriolo is a small estate in Castellina in Chianti managed by Susanna Soderi together with her mother.
This area of the Chianti Classico is known for the elegance of the Sangiovese due to the soils rich in marly limestone and sandstone. We are at an altitude of 350 m above sea level with south, south-east exposure which guarantee optimal grape ripening. The extension of the vineyard is minimal: 3.5 hectares planted mainly with Sangiovese which produces about 14ooo bottles every year.
The decision to adopt the organic regime comes from the firm belief that in order to have good wines one must also respect the territory where the grapes grow.
