The Renzo Marinai Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2019 is the best expression of Sangiovese from the estate vineyards located in the mythical golden basin of Panzano. Intense and brilliant red color, delicate, elegant, harmonious, with a remarkable body and a strong and very persistent character, a wine of great texture and surprising complexity. A wine for great aging. Renzo Marinai is a small company of about 6 hectares of vineyards located in one of the most renowned places in the Chianti Classico appellation: the Conca d’Oro of Panzano in Chianti. The vineyards are located in San Martino a Cecione, just outside the village of Panzano at about 400 m above sea level. Alongside the Sangiovese there is always a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon which, especially in difficult years, brings a contribution of tannin and structure. The style of the Chianti Classicos produced by Renzo Marinai is well marked: substance and body, with an excellent concentration of ripe fruit, spices and leather. Muscular wines that require an accompaniment of the same tenor to maintain balance.
