Description
Querciabella Batàr 2022 is one of the most celebrated white wines from Tuscany, born in the heart of Chianti Classico. The Querciabella estate, in Greve in Chianti, is surrounded by oak forests that protect its vineyards, cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic farming.
Founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni, a passionate admirer of Bordeaux and Burgundy, the estate has grown from a single hectare of vines to over 70, spread across Greve, Panzano, Radda, and Gaiole. Today, it is led by his son Sebastiano, who has turned Querciabella into one of Italy’s most innovative wineries, pioneering vegan and sustainable viticulture.
Batàr was first produced in 1988 from a vineyard farmed organically since its inception and fully converted to biodynamics in 2000. Crafted from an elegant blend of Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay, it finds an ideal terroir on the Tuscan hills. The wine matures slowly, reaching its peak after at least five years from harvest, offering a complex and harmonious bouquet with remarkable longevity.
Perfect for those seeking a prestigious Tuscan white wine, Batàr 2022 pairs beautifully with refined fish dishes, white meats, and gourmet vegetarian cuisine
