Description
Pruneto’s Chianti Classico is a fresh and approachable red wine with good quality fruit. The Sangiovese in this vintage offers fullness and maturity. In the mouth the wine has hints of sweet berries and a spicy touch of wild spices.
Pruneto is a farm in Radda in Chianti that has always stayed far away from trends and easy shortcuts that can be taken in the world of wine.
The heart and soul of Pruneto is Riccardo Lanza who has been inspired by this small part of Chianti for years, creating wines with an original character that faithfully reflect the territory and man.
The Pruneto vineyards extend for just over three hectares, arranged along the southern slope of the hill on which the farm rests. The vines are distributed in two different vineyards, the first facing south and the second facing south-west.
The prevailing vine is obviously Sangiovese, flanked by some rows of Merlot and Canaiolo. The oldest of our vineyards dates back to 1972, while the youngest was planted during 2017. The soils are mainly composed of marl and have a good stony skeleton at a reasonable depth. The altitude of the vineyards is approximately 550 m above sea level.
