Description
Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino 2019 is among the most sought-after and appreciated wines of the Ilcinese denomination. The production area is that of Castelnuovo dell’Abate, where the vines come from vineyards at 200, 300 and 450 meters above sea level. The soil is very poor and rocky, composed primarily of sedimentary rock. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in wooden vats. The wine then ages for 42 months in 30 hl Slovenian oak barrels.
Poggio di Sotto becomes one of the emblems of traditional and uncompromising Brunello di Montalcino thanks to Piero Palmucci, its founder, who arrived here at the end of the nineties. Together with Giulio Gambelli, master taster, this small company from Castelnuovo dell’Abate conquers the hearts of Sangiovese lovers. Even today, although the ownership has changed, the essence and spirit of Poggio di Sotto wines remain the same.
