Description
The Chianti Classico “nUovo” of Poggerino is a 100% Sangiovese that has the particularity of finishing the refinement in cement EGG where it remains for at least 8 months. There is therefore no passage in wood, but the goal is clear: to let Sangiovese express itself at its best. Brilliant ruby red color. Graphite, tobacco and red-flowered fruits on the nose. On the palate it is complex, with sweet and persistent tannins.
Piero and Benedetta Lanza have led Poggerino since the end of the 1980s, when they took to heart the fate of this company in Radda in Chianti which their father had followed until then. Piero takes care of the 11 hectares of vineyards, who with extreme passion and competence allows the full potential of the Poggerino terroir to be expressed through the Sangiovese.
Great attention to detail: biodynamic agriculture, careful choice of colonists to plant, cover crops, manual harvesting. Each choice is made to ensure the best possible combination of concentration, acidity and ripe tannins for the grapes. Exclusive use of indigenous yeasts, modern winemaking techniques, and aging in barrels complete the process.
