Description
The Rosso di Montalcino Sogni e Follia 2019 by Podere le Ripi is born on clayey soils with a good presence of Galestro. The vineyard is sapling with a very high planting density of 11,000 plants per hectare and very low yields of 35 quintals per hectare. The goal is to harvest the healthiest and ripest grapes.
The vineyards are about 20 years old and the grapes after harvesting and vinification remain in large barrels for about 12 months. At least 12 months of bottle follow. The result is a wine of great finesse and complexity.
We really like the care with which Francesco Illy follows every single project and the dedication with which he dedicates himself to his company. An engaging and intriguing wine, mirror of its creator.
Podere Le Ripi is located in the southern quadrant of Montalcino, not far from Castelnuovo dell’Abate. The company headed by Francesco Illy is run by a young and passionate staff. Unconventional winery in many respects, it represents the future of Montalcino. Respect for nature and its biodiversity is the philosophy behind which the magnificent Brunellos of Podere Le Ripi are hidden. Adherence to the principles of biodynamics is only the logical consequence of this philosophy
