Description
Pietroso Brunello di Montalcino 2020 by Gianni Pignattai, owner of the Azienda Agricola Pietroso appears in the glass with a finish that changes from ruby red to garnet. The aromatic spectrum is of absolute complexity with red cherries and raspberries which are enhanced by a light touch of vanilla and cloves. As the minutes pass, the tertiary aromas are clearly perceptible: hints of tobacco and dried roses. A Brunello di Montalcino with an imposing structure that will be able to defy the years.
Pietroso is a small company famous for its excellent Brunello di Montalcino located just outside the medieval village. The farm is located on a hill surrounded by woods and clearings, where Gianni Pignattai and his family make Sangiovese wine following the old recipe. There are only 5 hectares of vineyards and this allows Gianni to follow all the processes personally. The estate is actually made up of three vineyards, each with slightly different characteristics, even though none of the three descends below 350 meters in altitude. This aspect is of fundamental importance to ensure freshness and tension to the Sangiovese.
