Description
Piero Busso Barbaresco San Stunet 2020 is a wine that best expresses the characteristics of the terroir of the San Stunet cru, located in the municipality of Treiso. This vineyard is located at an altitude of approximately 400 meters above sea level, which contributes to greater freshness and complexity of the wine.
The soil of the San Stunet cru is predominantly calcareous with a sandy component, which gives the wine an important tannic structure and good acidity. These characteristics make Barbaresco San Stunet an austere wine, which generally requires more time in the bottle to reach full maturity. The winemaking follows a traditional process with spontaneous fermentation in wooden vats and maceration for approximately 30 days.
Aging takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels for two years, followed by a further period of aging in cement. The result is a garnet red wine, with a balanced and complex bouquet. On the palate, it stands out for its freshness, marked tannins and a well-balanced dose of acidity.
This Barbaresco represents an authentic expression of Nebbiolo grown in a unique terroir like that of San Stunet.
