Description
Tenuta di Lilliano is located in Castellina in Chianti, on the side overlooking the Valdelsa. The Ruspoli family, current owner of this historic village of Castellina, has about 40 hectares of vineyards mostly cultivated with Sangiovese on clayey-limestone soils.
Giulio Gambelli, master taster and great interpreter of Tuscan Sangiovese, in the 1950s assisted Eleonora Ruspoli Berlingieri in creating and bottling the first vintage of Chianti Classico Lilliano in 1958.
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from Tenuta di Lilliano comes from two of the best vineyards on the estate – Piagge and Casina. The grapes selected by hand during the harvest, fermentation in steel and aging in tonneaux and large barrels for at least 15 months.
Wine of great structure and evolutionary capacity.
