Description
The 2019 La Casa di Bricciano Chianti Classico Riserva is characterized by dark, ripe fruit and sweet spices. These two contrasting sides of the wine build a powerful, fruity and slender profile. The fruit is well defined in this vintage and sports a dense, saturated appearance. Immersed in the uncontaminated nature of the hills of Gaiole in Chianti, “La Casa di Bricciano” is a small family-run organic farm with a very limited production: about 12,000 bottles a year.
The Casa di Bricciano was born in 1990, under the banner of organic farming, in full respect of nature and scrupulous attention to the quality of the products. The first wines on the market came out in 2001 and the certification of organic wines arrived in 2009.
The vineyards are located on the top of a hill, at an altitude of about 550 m above sea level, extending on the southern slope overlooking Siena. The soil of the vineyards is shallow, extremely rich in texture, particularly suitable for high quality productions. Abandoned for a long time, it has been considerably enriched and is fertilized every year with manure fertilizer. Thanks to a careful selection of the grapes and a low production, optimal ripening is obtained. Only natural products are used both in the vineyards and in the cellar.
