Chianti Classico Gran Selezione “Elle” 2022 – Istine
The Elle label, introduced with the 2022 vintage, is a pure expression of 100% Sangiovese from the renowned Lamole vineyard. Production is extremely limited, with only about 1,300 bottles released.
Vineyard & Soil
The Elle cru comes from a small plot in Lamole, at around 540 meters above sea level, where the soils are mainly sandstone with a sandy texture. The altitude and exposure give the wine freshness and finesse, while the terroir provides structure and aromatic precision.
Vinification & Aging
Fermentation takes place in cement tanks at controlled temperatures, with an extended skin maceration of about 45 days. Malolactic fermentation also occurs in cement. The wine then matures for 15 months in large Austrian oak casks (30 hl), followed by an additional 18 months of bottle aging before release.
