Description
Giodo Brunello di Montalcino 2019 celebrates the varietal purity, balance and elegance of Sangiovese. Delicate berries, spices, undergrowth and balsamic herbs on the nose. The wine has a beautiful freshness, followed by firm tannins and a fruity texture to cheer the palate.
Created by the famous and talented Tuscan winemaker Carlo Ferrini, Podere Giodo is located in the heart of the Montalcino region, just outside the medieval village of Sant’Angelo in Colle. Born as a personal project and with its first vintage in 2009, Podere Giodo is a small and exclusive estate of Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino.
In his 3 hectares of vineyard, Ferrini has planted 15 different clones of Sangiovese, which he has selected throughout his career for their unique qualities and low yields. Ferrini cultivates organically and with green harvests to reduce harvests. His winemaking style is gentle, with short macerations, use of indigenous yeasts and no pumping over. This discreet, small production is still a secret jewel among the famous interpreters of modern Tuscan wines.
