With its intense garnet color and complex aroma of blackberry, violet and Mediterranean herbs, the Gagliole Gran Selezione embodies harmony, depth and richness.

The wine is aged for 24 months in oak barrels and refined in the bottle for a further 6 months before being placed on the market, guaranteeing maximum complexity and balance.

Gagliole has its roots in the history of Castellina in Chianti – Tuscany. A place so perfect that in 994 AD. it was a token of love from a king to his queen. Ancient terraced vineyards tell the story of this carefully preserved landscape. In 1990 Thomas and Monika Baer acquired the Gagliole winery to revive this unique piece of land with its centuries-old tradition of wine and olive oil production. In 2011 the Baer family bought the “La Valletta” winery in the Conca d’Oro of Panzano in Chianti, with the aim of optimizing the quality of their red wines (Rubiolo, Gagliole, Valletta and Pecchia). The excellent combination of soil and climate in the Chianti Classico area produces beautiful wines that reflect the local terroir. The care of the vineyard is of the utmost importance in Gagliole. It is essential to cultivate the vine and the soil as carefully as possible and according to established biological guidelines.
