Description
Fabio Motta’s Bolgheri Rosso Pievi 2022 speaks of ease of drinking and brilliance. This beautiful 50/25/25 blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is born from a parcel of a single vineyard. Fabio Motta focuses on the vertical aspect of wine. The result is an il “Pievi”, a direct and frank Bolgheri surrounded by ripe fruit. Great value for money.
Fabio Motta founded his company in 2009 with the purchase of 4 hectares of vineyards in the DOC Bolgheri, after having worked for several years under the tutelage of his father-in-law Michele Satta, historical producer of the Bogheri area.
His vineyards are located on the beautiful hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and are planted with Bordeaux varieties, Syrah and Sangiovese for red wines and his white wine is a blend of Vermentino, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc.
The vineyards are grown in Biodynamics, a practice that Fabio Motta believes is essential to allow the wines to truly speak of their unique terroir. In the cellar, his approach is undeniably casual: he uses only indigenous yeasts and avoids the clarification and filtration of wines at all costs.
