Description
Fabio Motta’s Bolgheri Superiore Le Gonnare is a super rich and concentrated wine. Mix of 85% Merlot and 15% Syrah, Le Gonnare is a soft and velvety wine. This Bolgheri plays its best cards in terms of softness in the mouth and silkiness of the tannins. Fabio Motta’s Bolgheri Superiore Le Gonnare is partially aged (only 20%) in new oak. Only 6,600 bottles were produced.
Fabio Motta founded his company in 2009 with the purchase of 4 hectares of vineyards in the DOC Bolgheri, after having worked for several years under the tutelage of his father-in-law Michele Satta, historical producer of the bogherese. Its vineyards are located on the beautiful hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and are planted with Bordeaux varieties, Syrah and Sangiovese for red wines and its white wine is a blend of Vermentino, Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyards are cultivated in Biodynamic, a practice that Fabio Motta considers essential to allow the wines to truly speak of their unique terroir. In the cellar his approach is undeniably casual: he uses only indigenous yeasts and avoids at all costs the clarification and filtration of wines.
