Erta di Radda Chianti Classico Riserva 2021 is the fifth vintage of this type for the young company from Radda. The Sangiovese grapes come from the company’s oldest vineyard and after traditional vinification, the wine ages for 24 months in 20 hl oak barrels. Erta di Radda is a small Chianti Classico company that is gradually establishing itself more and more in perhaps the most suitable sub-area of ​​the denomination: Radda in Chianti. Taking care of the company is Diego Finocchi, who personally takes care of all the activities, from pruning the vineyard to marketing the wine.

The name of the wine is linked to the slope of the vineyards which are located just outside the village. Erta in this case stands for climb.

Diego has always been passionate about wine and agriculture and at the age of 24 he decided to make it his job. He takes the opportunity to buy about 5 of old vines from a farmer in the area and with a bit of healthy recklessness he sets out to pursue his dream. The vineyards planted in 1967 were, over time, partly renewed, 1 hectare in 2006 and one hectare in 2009. The first years were not easy and apart from a little wine left for family and friends, the whole production was for sale. Until 2009 when Diego decides to take the plunge and bottle his first Chianti Classico. Erta di Radda is born. Respect for nature, biodiversity and the Chianti tradition led Diego to choose Organic as the vineyard management system and Sangiovese as the main actor for his wines.
