The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione of Colle Bereto is the expression of a single vineyard located under the convent of Santa Maria in Radda in Chianti. Sangiovese in purity, the first vintage in the bottle was 2010 The vineyard of the convent has always produced the most elegant Sangiovese in Colle Bereto. Vinified in 30Hl wooden vats and aged in large oak barrels for a period of three years.
Il Colle Bereto 2015 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is a concentrated and full-bodied wine. On the nose dark fruit, black cherry and wild plum. The wine is ripe and soft with docile and integrated tannins, ideal for a drink that accompanies the classics of Chianti cuisine.
Colle Bereto is the magnificent property of the Pinzauti family in Radda in Chianti, the winery is located on the opposite side of the village going down towards Montevarchi. The vineyards have a southwest orientation and enjoy an ideal exposure and altitude range, between 450 and 500 meters above sea level.
The terrain is the classic Chianti, Galestro, Alberese and rocky substrate. Ideal characteristics for native varieties such as Sangiovese and Canaiolo, but which have also proved to be perfect for Merlot and Pinot Nero.
There are 17 hectares of vineyards. The company has organic certification.
