Castelvecchi Lodolaio Chianti Classico Riserva comes from pure Sangiovese grapes obtained from the reproduction through mass selection of vines of very ancient origin, in a soil composed mainly of marl and alberese. The nose reveals wild berries, rose hips, toasted nuts and earthy tones. It’s a body reserve, with a direct style and clear contours. The wine shows a hint of sweetness on the finish, supported by a fresh acidity.
The Castelvecchi winery stands right in front of the village of Volpaia, a medieval village that has remained intact for centuries.
The Castelvecchi and Collepetroso vineyards are located 530 meters above sea level. The soils which are made up of marl and sandstone. Freshness and purity are the characteristics that distinguish the wines of this award-winning winery in Radda in Chianti.
