Description
Castello di Ama Montebuoni Chianti Classico Riserva 2020 is the result of grapes from the vineyard of the same name integrated with other company Sangiovese, which complies with the quality requirements typical of all Castello di Ama wines. The vineyard was replanted in 1997 and borders the Bellavista vineyard. The vineyard has been managed, since its planting, following a protocol based on the three pillars of sustainability: economic, environmental and social. The nose is fruity: hints of forest, blackberry, raspberry and currant. In the mouth it has a persuasive and full attack that persists for a long time in the mouth and expresses all the elegance of the Castello di Ama wines.
Castello di Ama is located in the central-south-eastern side of the Chianti Classico, in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti where the soils are rich in limestone, rocky, loose and Mediterranean scrub abounds.
The vineyards are among the highest in the denomination at an average altitude of around 500 m above sea level and were already held in high regard by the Grand Duke Leopold of Habsburg at the end of the 1700s. Ama is a small village with a bucolic character, of great charm, enriched starting from 2000 by valuable art installations created by internationally renowned artists who were inspired by this place.
The recent history of Castello di Ama owes its fortunes to the couple Lorenza Sebasti and Marco Pallanti who with passion and determination launched this Chianti reality into the Olympus of Italian wine brands.
The concepts of Cru and Terroir, so fashionable today, have been at home in Castello di Ama since 1982 when the first Vineyard Selections were released and if Chianti Classico has shed its reputation as a simple wine incapable of good ageing, much is also due to the work of this winery which has always sought quality without compromise.
