Description
Al Poggio from Castello di Ama is undoubtedly a great Tuscan Chardonnay.
This wine is produced from a parcel specifically dedicated to white grapes, which thrive particularly well in the estate’s limestone-rich soils. The fermentation process is split, with 60% occurring in stainless steel tanks and the remaining 40% in barriques, followed by an 8-month maturation period. The result is a wine that surprises with its fresh fruit expression, vibrancy, and remarkable minerality.
As always, Castello di Ama impresses, even when stepping outside the realm of red wines. An outstanding Chardonnay.
