Description

The “Solatio” of Castello di Albola is a cru produced in the upper part of Radda in Chianti. It is a rich and aromatic wine, which presents notes of ripe fruit, spices and a touch of wood, thanks to the aging period in barrique. Its complexity and structure make it suitable to accompany red meat dishes and mature cheeses. Albola Castle is located in Radda in Chianti in the heart of the Chianti Classico DOCG denomination, where the cultivation of vines dates back to Etruscan times. The Acciaiuoli family commissioned the estate to plant a vineyard in the highest part of the Chianti Classico in the 15th century as a symbol of their high status.

Over the centuries, many noble Tuscan families have taken over the ownership, and the estate has always been mentioned for the high quality of its wines. In 1979, the Zonin family bought Castello di Albola with the aim of continuing the tradition of high quality wines for which the company was famous. An expansion and modernization project started right away which brought the estate to its current size: 125 hectares of beautifully located vineyards and a modern cellar perfectly harmonized with the surrounding landscape.
