Description
The Chianti Classico of Castello dei Rampolla has a bouquet of plum, leather and ripe berries. In the mouth it is soft and enveloping with a weightless elegance. The sip always remains juicy with velvety tannins. The Rampola Castle is a historic estate owned by the Di Napoli family since 1964, located in the Conca d’Oro of Panzano.
He is part of that group of producers who contributed to relaunching the Chianti region in the seventies and eighties. Castello dei Rampolla has been working biodynamically since 1994 and its wines have become cult favorites for enthusiasts due to their consistency and ability to interpret the terroir
The grapes to produce Chianti Classico come from manual harvesting in vineyards that have not undergone chemical treatments. The harvest follows the lunar calendar. Maceration on the skins for 30 days. Alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks (7 days at 28-30°C).
The refinement takes place for at least 15 months in French oak barriques, 12 Hl oak barrels and 500 L tonneaux. The wine remains in the bottle for a further three months before being released on the market.
