Description

The Chianti Classico Riserva 2021 Vigna Il Poggiale di Castellare di Castellina is a very exuberant wine. Il Poggiale comes from a single vineyard planted in 1988. Produced only in exceptional vintages, 2015 is a blend of 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Ciliegiolo. The wine was vinified in steel tanks and then aged in new barriques and for 18 months before resting another 16 months in the bottle before release.

Castellare di Castellina is the Chianti property of Paolo Panerai in Castellina in Chianti.

Their wines have labels that do not go unnoticed and that have now become cult for enthusiasts.

With each vintage, the Castellare label features a different little bird, symbolizing the estate’s commitment to environmentally friendly cultivation. The birds selected for the labels are among the rarest creatures in Chianti and represent birds threatened with extinction, mainly due to synthetic chemicals and hunting, both of which are banned on this property.

There are 33 hectares of vineyards in a beautiful natural amphitheater with vines that even reach 45 years of age.
