Description
The Derthona Colli Tortonesi Timorasso 2023 by Cascina Penna-Currado represents a refined expression of the indigenous Timorasso grape, originating from the Tortona hills of Piedmont. This dry white wine embodies the Penna-Currado family’s commitment to enhancing Piedmontese terroirs, with a particular focus on local varieties.
The Colli Tortonesi terroir is characterized by calcareous and clayey soils, which give the Timorasso a distinct minerality and structure. The temperate climate, with warm summers and mild winters, favors optimal ripening of the grapes, while preserving a lively acidity. The vines are cultivated with sustainable practices, respecting the environment and enhancing local biodiversity.
To the eye, the wine presents a bright straw-yellow color. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet with notes of citrus, white fruit, and delicate floral hints. On the palate, it stands out for its creamy and enveloping structure, with flavors of apricot and a marked saline minerality, culminating in a persistent and layered finish.
With an alcohol content of 14%, the Derthona Colli Tortonesi Timorasso 2023 pairs perfectly with fish dishes, pasta with creamy sauces, and medium-aged cheeses. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 10-12 °C to fully appreciate its organoleptic characteristics.
Cascina Penna-Currado is the new personal project of the Penna-Currado Vietti family, led by Elena Penna and Luca Currado Vietti, together with their children, Michele and Giulia.
