Description
Brancaia’s Il Blu 2020 is one of the most established and sought after Supertuscans. Grapes at the base of which there is Merlot, Blu is the company’s standard-bearer that with continuity and reliability shows its characteristic traits every year: intensity, power, finesse and evolutionary potential. An essential label in the Supertuscan category
Brancaia’s history is relatively recent. It dates back to the early eighties when the Swiss couple Brigitte and Bruno Widmer fell in love with the Chianti Classico hills and decided to buy an abandoned farm just outside Castellina in Chianti: Brancaia.
The success of the wines of this estate was almost immediate and hence the need to invest in nearby Radda in Chianti, in the locality of Poppi and subsequently also in Maremma not far from the Tuscan coast.
The passion of the Widmer family was soon transmitted to their daughter Barbara who, after studying oenology, personally follows and directs the company.
The identity of Brancaia wines is very precise. Its fans appreciate it for its well-ripened fruit and clean aromas, the delicacy of the sip, always present in its simpler wines and the important structure in its more ambitious wines.
