Description
Boscarelli’s Vino Nobile di Montepulciano shows a dark ruby color with garnet reflections. The wine is based on Sangiovese but has minor parts of Canaiolo and Colorino in the blend. The Colorino gives the wine its attractive color and the Canaiolo supplies part of the aromatic component. Aromas of black cherry, plum and toasted almond stand out on the nose. It is a medium weight wine with good refreshing acidity. The story of Boscarelli begins in 1962, when Egidio Corradi decides to realize his dream of creating a ‘noble’ terroir wine. Giving up his career as an international broker to buy abandoned farmland in Cervognano, a beautiful corner of old Etruscan Tuscany, he began to cultivate his land and vineyards in the traditional way.
Giving up his career as an international broker to buy abandoned farmland in Cervognano, a beautiful corner of old Etruscan Tuscany, he began to cultivate his land and vineyards in the traditional way. However, it was his daughter, Paola De Ferrari, who started the Boscarelli brand, planting specialized vineyards at 3,500 vines per hectare and adapting the old stables to the company’s first cellar. The estate is now in the hands of Luca and Nicolò De Ferrari, the third generation of the family. They continue to work with the same passion that animated their grandfather, making sure that every bottle is imbued with the aromas and flavors of the region that he loved so much. The production is mainly centered on the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, but in recent years the company has expanded to produce wines from special parcels from particularly suitable places
