Description
The Benoît Lahaye Rosé Extra Brut Rosé de Macération Champagne is an authentic and fascinating expression of Pinot Noir, the noble grape variety of Champagne. This rosé de saignée, the result of a short and delicate maceration, stands out for its aromatic complexity, its elegant structure and its vibrant minerality.
A terroir of excellence, an artisanal approach
The Benoît Lahaye House, located in the heart of Bouzy, a renowned Grand Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, cultivates its vines following the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The Rosé de Macération is born from Pinot Noir grapes coming from vines over 40 years old, located in the prestigious “Les Juliennes” parcel. The environmentally friendly cultivation and the artisanal attention to detail are the pillars of Benoît Lahaye’s production philosophy.
A delicate maceration, a natural winemaking
The particularity of this champagne lies in its winemaking process. The grapes are harvested by hand and gently pressed, then subjected to a short maceration (about 20 hours) which allows to extract color and aromas from the Pinot Noir. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, without the addition of external yeasts, and aging takes place in wooden barrels and amphorae, giving the wine greater complexity and roundness.
A rosé of character, a unique sensory experience
The Benoît Lahaye Rosé Extra Brut Rosé de Macération Champagne has a bright salmon pink color and a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it expresses an intense and refined bouquet, with notes of fresh red fruits (raspberry, strawberry), citrus fruits, flowers (rose, violet) and sweet spices. On the palate, it is fresh, dynamic and mineral, with an elegant structure and a long and persistent finish.
