Antinori Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Badia a Passignano is produced exclusively from the highest quality grapes grown on the estate of the same name, located in the northern quadrant of the Chianti Classico region.
La Badia (or “abbey”) is located in an area inhabited since the Etruscan period and is one of the most beautiful fortified abbeys in the area. It is a corner of Chianti renowned for its wine production for over 1,000 years.
The Antinori family purchased the vineyards around the abbey, owned by the Vallombrosan monks, in 1987, including the use of the monastery’s cellars
