Description
Tiezzi’s Brunello di Montalcino POGGIO CERRINO 2016 is traditional. The Poggio Cerrino vineyard is located at 350 meters above sea level 3 KM north-east of the municipality of Montalcino. They are vines aged 25 to 40 years placed on a clayey / sandy soil with lots of Galestro.
Tiezzi’s Brunello di Montalcino POGGIO CERRINO ages in large Slavonian oak barrels of 10-40 hectoliters for just under four years. A refreshing example of Brunello with notes of fresh cherries, aromatic herbs and undergrowth in full evidence.
The Tiezzi company is made up of three farm units for a total area of about 10 hectares, located in different points of the Montalcino area, of which 5.50 are cultivated with Sangiovese (Brunello di Montalcino) and 3 with olive trees.
The heart and jewel of the company is the historic Soccorso farm where the cellars, offices, direct sales and the farm are located.
Founded by the well-known agronomist / enologist Enzo Tiezzi in the late 1980s after having held those positions for many of the best winemakers in Montalcino and Montepulciano. Enzo was also elected 1st President of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium.
