Description
Stefano Amerighi, young and dynamic owner of this homonymous estate, has a beautiful Cru called Poggiobello di Farneta not far from Cortona. The vineyard was planted with the Syrah variety in 2002, after a thorough geological investigation.
Ideal exposure: south-east, and the ideal soil: a mix of clay, silt and gypsum.
Stefano planted the high-density vines, 7000 plants per hectare and immediately adhered to the principles of biodynamics for the management of the vineyard.
In the cellar, fermentation occurs spontaneously in small concrete tanks and without the use of pumps, sulfur or temperature control. The wine is then left to settle naturally in a combination of wooden and concrete tanks, where it is stored for 14 months before bottling.
The resulting wine is top notch, with notes of black olives, cassis and minerals. A point of reference for the Cortona DOC appellation
Stefano Amerighi is Demeter certified.
